Every day, thousands of platform workers travel across Singapore, delivering parcels and meals, transporting passengers and helping people get where they need to be. Their work is woven into our daily routines, often in ways we rarely stop to think about.
Behind these services are individuals navigating long hours, changing weather conditions and the demands of being constantly on the move. Their contributions deserve recognition, and sometimes, that starts with something as simple as taking the time to connect and say thank you.
That was the spirit behind the National Trades Union Congress' (NTUC) Platform Workers Appreciation Events, a series of eight community events organised across Singapore's heartlands in 2026 to recognise the contributions of taxi drivers, private-hire drivers and delivery workers.
Lalamove Singapore was pleased to be part of this initiative, participating in the events and joining NTUC and fellow industry partners in showing appreciation for the platform worker community.
Organised by NTUC, the appreciation events brought together platform workers, associations and industry partners in an environment centred on recognition, connection and practical support.
Held at community clubs across Singapore, the events featured booths offering information on career development, financial matters, membership benefits and lifestyle services, alongside refreshments, activities and giveaways for participating workers.
For platform workers who spend much of their day independently on the road, these gatherings offer an opportunity to step away from their usual routines, connect with others in the community and learn more about the resources available to them.
Beyond celebrating their contributions, the initiative also reflected the importance of ensuring that platform workers feel supported and recognised for the role they play in Singapore's everyday life.
As part of the initiative, the Lalamove Singapore team participated in appreciation events at Sengkang Community Club and Pasir Ris Elias Community Club, where we had the opportunity to meet and engage with platform workers directly.
Events like these create opportunities to connect beyond those daily interactions. Through our booth presence, our team was able to speak with driver partners, hear about their experiences and engage with individuals interested in learning more about Lalamove.
For Lalamove, being present at these events was an opportunity to strengthen those connections and show our appreciation to the people who play an important role in keeping the platform moving.
At Lalamove, driver partners are central to what we do. They support businesses managing their daily operations, help households with their delivery needs and make flexible logistics possible across Singapore.
We believe that meaningful engagement extends beyond the delivery itself. It also comes from listening, creating opportunities for connection and working alongside organisations that support the broader platform worker community.
We thank NTUC for bringing together platform workers and industry partners through this initiative, and for creating opportunities to recognise the people whose contributions make a difference to Singapore every day.
As we continue working with our driver partners, we hope to keep building a community where their contributions are recognised, their voices are heard and their wellbeing remains an important part of the conversation.
