Dubai Truck Restrictions from 1 October: What It Means for You

featured image

From 1 October 2026, Dubai's RTA and Dubai Police enforced truck movement restrictions on roads across the emirate. The goal was smoother traffic, safer roads, and shorter journey times for everyone.

On Lalamove, this affects our Fence Truck 3 Ton. Car, SUV, van, and 1-ton fence truck bookings carry on as normal. The good news: most roads are only restricted at certain hours, and Emirates Road stays open to trucks around the clock. With a little planning, your big deliveries still move. Here's what's changing, and what to do about it.

The new rules at a glance

Restrictions depend on the road and the time of day. There are three levels, plus one road that's always open.

Level

When trucks can't drive

All day, every day

For driver partners: what changes and what to do

If you drive a Fence Truck 3 Ton, your routes and timing now matter more than ever. Some daytime jobs will need a different route, and some will only work in the evening or at night. How it affects you:

  • Sheikh Zayed Road and Beirut Street are closed to you from 6am to 10pm.

  • Jobs in Al Mizhar, Muhaisnah and Oud Al Muteena can only be done between 10pm and 6am.

  • Al Qudra Street, Meydan Street, the marine bridges, and Airport Tunnel are closed to trucks 24 hours a day.

  • On Airport Road, Oman Street and Damascus Street, you'll need to work around the three peak windows.

What to do

  1. Check the route before you accept. Look at the pick-up, the drop-off, and the time. If the job can't be done without a restricted road, you don't have to take it.

  2. Use Emirates Road. It's open to trucks at all hours, and it's your best route between Dubai and Sharjah.

  3. Plan around peak hours. Avoid 6:30–8:30am, 1–3pm and 5:30–8pm on Airport Road, Oman Street, and Damascus Street.

  4. Make the most of evenings and nights. Sheikh Zayed Road and the residential areas open up after 10pm, and customers can schedule jobs for those hours.

  5. Wait in the right place. If you're early or caught in a restricted window, use an RTA truck rest area. Don't park on main roads, in residential areas, or anywhere not marked for parking.

  6. Talk to your customer. If timing needs to change, call them before you set off so there are no surprises.

Following the rules keeps you clear of traffic violations and keeps your ratings strong.

For customers: what changes and what to do

If you're moving house, shifting office furniture, or sending a bulk load, a little planning now goes a long way. Everything else you book on Lalamove works exactly as before. How it affects you:

  • Daytime Fence Truck 3 Ton bookings may take longer to match, or follow a longer route.

  • Moves in or out of Al Mizhar, Muhaisnah and Oud Al Muteena need a 3 Ton truck between 10pm and 6am.

  • Routes that would use Sheikh Zayed Road in the daytime may be redirected to Emirates Road.

  • Bookings during peak hours (6:30–8:30am, 1–3pm, 5:30–8pm) may take a little longer.

What to do:

  1. Book ahead. Use advance orders to lock in a 3 Ton truck at a time that works for your route.

  2. Pick the right time. Outside peak hours is best. For Sheikh Zayed Road routes or the restricted residential areas, book for after 10pm.

  3. Choose the right vehicle. Not every job needs a 3-ton. A Van or 1-ton fence truck carries up to 1,000 kg and isn't affected by these rules.

  4. Leave clear notes. Add building access, loading bay details, and contact numbers so your driver partner can move quickly within the allowed hours.

We'll keep matching you with driver partners who know the rules and the routes.
