New Feature Alert: Post Delivery Payment (PDP) Explained
Deliveries sometimes come with extra costs that no one can predict at booking time. A driver might hit paid parking, pay a SALIK toll, or wait longer than expected at a pickup point. Lalamove built Post Delivery Payment, or PDP, to handle exactly this. This feature applies to orders paid through the wallet (paid orders). Here's how it works for drivers and customers.
What Is Post Delivery Payment (PDP)?
PDP lets a driver apply for extra charges he pays out of pocket during a delivery. This covers costs like paid parking, SALIK, or waiting charges beyond the standard waiting time. The driver submits the request directly through the Driver App, and the customer settles it through the same app used to book the order.
How Drivers Apply for PDP

If a driver incurs an extra cost during a delivery, he opens the app and applies for the payment right after completing the job. He does not need to contact customer service first or collect cash on the spot. The request goes straight to the customer for approval and payment.
How Customers Pay PDP Charges
Once a driver submits a PDP request, the customer receives it in the Lalamove app and has to pay through the wallet. No cash changes hands, and no separate transaction happens outside the app. This keeps the whole process traceable for both sides.
When PDP Applies
PDP only applies to orders paid through the Lalamove wallet. If an order was paid in cash, this feature does not come into play. This restriction keeps the payment flow within the app for orders where it's already set up to handle in-app transactions.
What Happens If a Charge Is Disputed

If a customer disputes a PDP charge, Lalamove's Customer Service team reviews the case. If the charge turns out to be genuine, CS has the right to restrict that customer's account from placing further orders until the matter is resolved. To reduce drivers' anxiety, the CS team initiates a partial settlement from the user's wallet if the user does not pay the PDP. This protects drivers from carrying costs that customers refuse to pay for legitimate reasons like tolls or parking fees.
Why PDP Matters
PDP closes a real gap. Before this feature, drivers had no straightforward way to recover costs they paid for during a job. Now the process is built into the app, transparent for both sides, and settled digitally. Drivers get paid back for what they actually spent, and customers see exactly what they're paying for.
