Driver Offboarding Policy

At Lalamove our mission is to make on-demand and same-day delivery possible for everyone at the touch of a button. To do that, we need to collect, use, and share some of your personal information. This Driver Offboarding Policy is meant to help you understand how Lalamove does that and how to exercise the choices and rights you have in your information after leaving our platform.
If you request to delete your Lalamove data, we will delete your account and information to the extent required by applicable laws of UAE including the Federal Decree-Law No. 45/2021 on the Protection of Personal Data. There isn’t a way to request only partial deletion of your account or data. There also isn't a way to undo an account deletion request once completed. To delete your Lalamove account and data, please refer to Section A below. For more details, please read our privacy policy.
We aim to respond within 40 days of receiving your request. If we are unable to delete the account within the specified time, we will notify you of the same.
In some cases, we will be unable to delete your account. This may apply if there is an issue with your account related to trust, safety, fraud or if compliance of the law prevents the same. To know more about our definitions of driver misbehaviour policy, please visit our Community Guideline.
A. How to delete your Lalamove account
Tap ‘Driver Account Closure’ in ‘Settings’ in our Driver App. Then, follow the steps below:
1. Visit our privacy page;
2. Read the deposit arrangement;
a. The deposit will be 100% refunded EXCEPT if your Lalamove account has been blocked or if there is a pending investigation for safety, trust or fraud;
b. The deposit will be credited to your Lalamove wallet, NOT to your bank account;
i. Please check your Lalamove wallet after the application is completed within 3 working days;
ii. You must withdraw the deposit within 7 working days before your Lalamove account is permanently closed.
3. Read the remaining transactional amount arrangement;
a. The amount will be 100% transferred EXCEPT if your Lalamove account has been blocked or if there is a pending investigation for safety, trust or fraud;
i. Please check your Lalamove wallet after the application is completed within 3 working days;
ii. You must withdraw the amount within 7 working days before your Lalamove account is permanently closed.
iii. If you have a negative balance in your Lalamove wallet, we will deduct the amount from your deposit; If the deposit cannot cover the negative balance in your wallet, you will be required to add the outstanding balance into your Lalamove wallet before we continue the driver account deletion process.
4. Tap ‘here’ under the ‘Driver Account Closure’ section. You can choose to download your data;
5. Select a reason for your account deletion request;
a. Lalamove noticed some unauthorized activities on the driver’s account;
b. I had a bad ride experience;
c. There was a change of commission / membership;
d. I cannot apply stickers;
e. There was not sufficient order;
f. I had a full time job;
g. I have relocated;
h. My vehicle has been sold;
i. I joined other platforms;
j. I am going to change my driver account;
k. I prefer not to say;
l. Others: please specify______________.
6. Confirm your request by entering ‘DELETE’ into the text box.
Driver account shall be suspended during the 7-day grace period. Driver re-logging into the driver app would reverse the request. However, we can’t undo the deletion request after 7-day. By doing so, you may lose access to information and other benefits that you might find useful in the future, such as unused rewards or balances, or information that might support claims or rights you may seek to assert.
B. How to request your Lalamove account data
You can request a copy of your Lalamove data (which includes information like your ride history). Download your account data before deleting your account. This data is not available after an account deletion.
Follow the steps below to download:
1. Tap ‘Start’ under the download data section in ‘Driver Account Closure’;
2. Your data will download as a ZIP file;
3. Your data will include a file titled ‘DataDictionary.’ This file explains each file type and what information it contains.
If you request to download your Lalamove data, we provide:
a. Categories of personal information we have collected about you;
b. Categories of personal information sources we collect from;
c. Business or commercial purpose for collecting your personal information;
d. Categories of third parties with whom we have shared your personal information;
e. Specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
After you request a download, you’ll get an email from us as soon as the download is complete. It may take a few days to receive your download after requesting it. Please note that data containing Personally identifiable information (PII) of other parties may be redacted and in certain cases may not be shared even if it contains your driver’s data, if the identity of the other party cannot be hidden.
C. How to restore your deleted Lalamove account
Currently, there isn’t a way to restore a deleted account. If you would like to rejoin the Lalamove platform you can create a new account.
D. How to remove your vehicle sticker and return the Lalamove properties
You will be required to remove the Lalamove stickers on your vehicle after you have left Lalamove platform. You will also be required to return all Lalamove properties after departure (including but not limited to Lalabag, banner and leaflets provided by Lalamove). Please schedule an appointment with Lalamove office, and our staff will assist you on stickers removal and returning of the company properties process.
E. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time as the Lalamove Platform changes and privacy law evolves. If we update it, we will do so online, and if we make material changes, we will let you know through the Lalamove Platform or by some other method of communication like email. When you use Lalamove, you are agreeing to the most recent terms of this policy.
