In this second blog, Izwan shares about the sacrifices his father, Ab Manan bin Mahmood made for his family.
Interestingly, his father is also a Lalamove driver partner.

A Father’s Sacrifices In Every Journey Of Life
Izwan shares what he admires most about his father: a resilient and strong person.
Thanks to Ab Manan’s hard work and unwavering dedication, he managed to support his children’s education, even sending two of them abroad to further their studies without needing to rely on any educational loans.
“From primary school, elementary school, to university, my father supported us on his own without any loans. Thank God, I can continue my study in Egypt while my sister continues her study in the UK”, said Izwan, the eldest son in the family.
Today, many of Ab Manan’s children have grown up, and some have even started families of their own.
At the age of 65, Ab Manan lives comfortably with his family. He still runs his multiple businesses, and yet finds passion in being a Lalamove driver.
Accompanied By A Father’s Love At Work
The main reason why Ab Manan chose to be a Lalamove driver is because of Izwan.
“I just want to give him the support he needs. I do this as a part-time job only,” said Ab Manan.
At the same time, Ab Manan also wanted to fill in his free time with useful activities that allow a man of his age to generate income without any hassle.
According to Izwan, sometimes his father would follow him when delivering orders to learn more about the process.
“From there, I told him that with Lalamove, drivers have the flexibility to choose any job we want,” Izwan shared.
After spending a month shadowing Izwan on his delivery rounds, Ab Manan finally decided to sign up as a Lalamove driver through the Lalamove Driver Referral Programme introduced by Izwan.
Thanks to the programme, both Izwan and Ab Manan received their cash rewards once Ab Manan completed his registration and finished the required mission.
One of the things that appealed most to Ab Manan was the ability to get paid instantly.

According to Izwan, his father is someone who always follows through once he sets his mind on something. This is a quality Izwan himself has picked up.
“Even when he eats, he never leaves anything behind, not even a single grain of rice. It’s the same with work, he’ll always give his best,” Izwan added.
Being a Lalamove driver at his age comes with its own set of challenges. But with strong will and the right intentions, Ab Manan pushes through.
“I don’t have as much energy as I used to, but I find this job quite manageable. Sometimes when I reach the pickup and drop-off locations, the customers would help me to load and unload the items,” said Ab Manan.
Fuelled By Love And Purpose
Like most parents, Ab Manan’s greatest hope is to see his son Izwan find happiness in life.
He also hopes to see Izwan achieve his dream of buying a house in Kuala Lumpur so he can reunite with his little family.
