International Women’s Day 2026 #GivetoGain: How Single Mom of Four Ryna Built Rynelves Treats from Home
When life throws unexpected challenges your way, sometimes the best way forward is to rely on your own two hands. For Ryna Muzni, a dedicated single mother of four, that meant turning her passion for cooking into a lifeline.
This International Women’s Day 2026, Lalamove is exploring the theme “Give To Gain” by recognising how the time, strength, and sacrifices women make often lead to powerful personal and professional returns. Ryna’s story is a perfect reflection of this. What started in 2018 as a way to make extra money for her children has become an eight-year journey of resilience, customer dedication, and hard-earned independence through her business, Rynelves Treats.
Cooking Up a New Beginning
Ryna’s entrepreneurial journey began during one of the most challenging seasons of her life.
"It all began in 2018 when I was going through my divorce," Ryna shares. "I was working full-time and needed something extra to earn money to raise my four kids. Because of my passion and hobby for cooking, I decided to try doing it from home."
She started by cooking for family and friends at events. As word of mouth spread and she began advertising on social media, Rynelves Treats' signature tahu begedil and roti kirai sets became an instant hit. The turning point arrived when her cooking orders began clashing with her full-time working days. Slowly but surely, her weekend hustle transformed into a daily demand.

The Recipe for Success: What She Gives
Running a home-based food business while raising four children requires an extraordinary level of sacrifice. For Ryna, what she gives daily is uncompromising dedication to her customers and her craft.
To guarantee quality, she sacrifices convenience, ensuring ingredients are purchased on the exact same day or the day before cooking. She gives up sleep for late nights in the kitchen and carefully plans family outings only after her cooking is done for the day.
There were times she wanted to give up, especially during a major setback.
"I met with an accident last December," she recalls. "I had to cancel pre-booked orders and was at my lowest with my injuries. Thankfully, with the help of my daughters, family, and close friends, I managed to rise stronger."
Even during the hardest times, knowing her customers were waiting for her famous roti kirai kept her going.
Delivering the Goods: The Lalamove Connection
Scaling a food business from home is impossible without a reliable support system. Today, a staggering 80% of Rynelves Treats' orders are fulfilled through delivery.
Ryna relies on the efficiency of the Lalamove app and the reliability of driver partners to ensure her fresh food reaches customers perfectly on time. This fast and flexible delivery has allowed her to serve her customers better and handle incredible demand.
At her peak during the fasting month and Hari Raya season, Ryna hit a personal record: cooking and fulfilling 4,800 roti kirai in the month of Syawal for open house orders!
A Mother's Reward: What She Gains
When Ryna gives her late nights, her culinary passion, and her resilience, what she gains in return is life-changing.
Financially, Rynelves Treats has granted her the stability to truly provide for her family. It has empowered her as a single mother to take her four kids on a holiday every three months and confidently support all of their needs.
But beyond the finances, she has gained ultimate control over her time as a mother.
"Being there for them when they need me is everything," Ryna explains. "For example, on the days when my kids are unwell, I do not have to report to any boss to apply for leave. I can still fulfill my orders while my kids rest, and be right there for them."
By watching her navigate the ups and downs of business, she is giving her children a real-life lesson in hard work, resilience, and believing in themselves.
A Mother's Reward: What She Gains
To Ryna, empowerment means setting goals, working toward them, and surrounding yourself with like-minded people who push you to be better. Reflecting on this year's International Women's Day theme, she believes that her contributions naturally create more opportunities for everyone around her, including people she has met who want to invest in her skills to open a cafe or a Nasi Padang stall.
When asked to sum up her philosophy, she fills in the blank beautifully:
"When I give support, I gain confidence."
A Message to Women Everywhere
After eight years of building Rynelves Treats, communicating with customers, and raising four children, Ryna's advice to women dreaming of starting their own home-based business is simple:
"Just do it. Find your passion, share it among the people around you first, be open to feedback, and you are good to go."
Her final message for International Women's Day is a testament to the resilient journey she has walked:
"Always believe in lifelong learning because knowledge is power. Remain humble at all times, and don't give up."
