Choose the Right Packing Materials

Choosing the right packing materials is essential for protecting items during transit. They provide cushioning, prevent shifting, and guard against moisture and temperature changes, reducing the risk of damage.

Pro Tip: Always consider the following when choosing the right packaging for your items:

1. Size, weight and shape (Make sure the packaging is sturdy and able to protect the item)

2. Nature of Product (Is it delicate or perishable food items such as soup, cake etc.)

3. Temperature and time sensitivity of the item.

Here are some tips you can follow when packing perishable items such as food or temperature-sensitive products:

  • Use insulated containers or coolers with sufficient ice packs to maintain the desired temperature during transit

  • Use appropriate size containers to avoid excessive empty space

  • Pack items like meat, dairy, and soup in airtight, leak-proof containers or bags

  • Do not pack containers too high

  • Avoid overpacking containers and ensure to seal containers properly to avoid spills

When packing multiple items together, use internal dividers or padding to prevent items from shifting and rubbing against each other during transit.

Finally, avoid over-stuffing or overfilling packages, as this can cause seams to split or the package to burst open.
