Lalamove statement on the Platform Workers Bill
Singapore, 11 September – Since launching in Singapore in 2014, Lalamove's strategy has been guided by multiple collar pillars. These pillars include providing flexible work for delivery partners on their own terms. This is achieved by empowering them with total autonomy over when to work and which delivery orders to accept. Processes and benefits, such as insurance coverage, have also been implemented to promote delivery partners' welfare and safety. Additionally, full transparency is maintained in all communications with delivery partners.
Lalamove welcomes the changes introduced by the Ministry of Manpower under the Platform Workers Bill. The enhanced protection for platform workers builds on the good work done by platform operators such as Lalamove, while harmonising industry standards and further strengthening platform worker protection. As a platform operator, Lalamove is active collaborating with relevant authorities to implement the newly announced legislation.
We will continue to abide by our pillars of platform work and provide timely updates to both our users and delivery partners as more information becomes available from the government.
