  • Convenience is In: How to Set Up Cash On Delivery For Your Business

The fashion industry is a cut-throat one. Trends start and end in the blink of an eye, and if you are a clothing shop owner, you must be able to adapt with the times quickly. And with online shopping becoming the front-runner in apparel retail, shops are offering more ways in delivering fast and convenient service to their customers. One way to do this is by offering a cash on delivery (COD) payment option. If you are looking for ways on how to offer this for your clothing shop (or any business really), Lalamove is here to help! Just follow these three ways on how to set up cash on delivery for your business here in Manila!

Cash on Delivery via Round Trip and Cash Handling

Choosing Round Trip as your technique to set up for cash on delivery would be good if you are delivering in bulk, and your customers are willing to wait a little while before they get their items. With Lalamove, you can set up to 20 drop off points in a single delivery ride, so if you have multiple orders that need delivering for the day, you can just have one driver do the job. And if you tick Round Trip, at the end of all the deliveries, the driver will come back to you to remit all the payments made, for just a P100 flat rate charge. This technique is good for you if you immediately need the money from your sales. Here are the steps on how to do it:

    1. Get the orders from your clients and collect them (up to 20 orders)
    2. Prepare all the orders and label them correctly to help our drivers
    3. Input your location as Pick Up
    4. Input the many different locations of your customers as Drop Off points (make sure you input the correct contact details per Drop Off)
    5. Tick Round Trip and Cash Handling under Additional Services, then click Deliver Now/Schedule
    6. Write your notes for the driver, then Place Order
    7. Give the items to the driver, and while en route track your deliveries via app
    8. The driver will send the item/s to each customer and will collect the payments
    9. After the last drop off, the driver will go back to you to remit the payments of your customers and for you to pay the delivery fee

Cash on Delivery via Queueing Service and Cash Handling

    20180921_172413

Same as the Round Trip and Cash Handling technique, this is best if you will be delivering in bulk and that your customers won’t mind the extra waiting time. You can still set up to 20 drop off points for a single delivery ride, however, unlike the earlier technique, the driver won’t have come back to you to remit anymore because remittance will happen through bank transfer. Just be mindful of the banking hours of your preferred bank to avoid delays in the remittance of the payment. This would work well if you prefer having your revenue in the bank, and don't necessarily need the money immediately on hand. Still confused? Check out the steps on how to do it to make things clear:

    1. Get the orders from your clients and collect them (up to 20 orders)
    2. Prepare all the orders and label them correctly to help our drivers
    3. Input your location as Pick Up
    4. Input the many different locations of your customers as Drop Off points (make sure you input the correct contact details per Drop Off)
    5. Tick Queueing Service and Cash Handling under Additional Services, then click Deliver Now/Schedule
    6. Write your notes for the driver and don’t forget to indicate your bank account number and name, then Place Order
    7. Give the items to the driver, and while en route track your deliveries via app
    8. The driver will send the item/s to each customer and will collect the payments
    9. After the last drop off, the driver will go to your preferred bank and line up to deposit the payments, essentially remitting the money to you

Cash on Delivery via Pabili Service

    20180921_172427

Pabili Service is a special feature of Lalamove wherein the driver will pay for the goods which the customer has to pay for when the delivery is made. So when you set up cash on delivery via Pabili Service, you are essentially “buying for the customer.” This technique will benefit you more if the customer is willing to pay for the premium just to have their item delivered on-demand, meaning you don’t have to collate the orders before sending the items out because there will only be one drop off point. As long as the item/s delivered (and bought by the customer) is/are below P2,000, you’re good to go. Here are the steps on how to do it:

    1. Get the orders from your client
    2. Input your location as Pick Up
    3. Input your customer’s location as Drop Off
    4. Tick Pabili Service under Additional Services, then click Deliver Now/Schedule
    5. Place Order (no need to add notes for you will be the one giving out the item anyway)
    6. When the driver arrives, give the customer’s ordered items to the driver, here the driver will pay you the cost of the items
    7. The driver will go to the customer’s location, and deliver the items
    8. The customer will pay the driver the cost of the item/s as well as the delivery fee

And there you go, you’ve just created cash on delivery service, which you can use for your clothing shop or any other business! Now slaying your shop’s profit is easy and hassle-free for both you and your customers. Grow your business with us now!
